How to Read Ebooks if You Do Not Have a Kindle Device

By: Ymatruz | Filed under: |

If you bought a Kindle device and you are able to read any ebook from it, this post is not for you.

I mean, I am talking only if you do not own a Kindle and you have been wanting to purchase an ebook and you are worried how you could read it. Do not hesitate to buy an ebook as long as you have a tablet or Android phone. All you need to do is install the free Amazon Kindle app which can be downloaded from Google Play (on your handheld device).

1. Open Google Play and type Kindle app in the search field.

2. Select Amazon Kindle from the search results. If you do not have Kindle app installed on your phone/ tablet, you will see the FREE icon in green color on the lower right. Click Amazon Kindle app and click INSTALL.

Otherwise, if the app is already installed, you should see a status INSTALLED when you search for Kindle app.

Search Kindle app in Google Play.

3. After the app is successfully installed, the following screen will show. Click OPEN. The application also automatically adds a shortcut on your phone that says "Kindle". You can use this shortcut to access the app next time around.

Click OPEN to use the Kindle app.

4. The Kindle app will prompt for login. Now, if you already purchased an ebook from Amazon, you have to enter the same username/email that you used to buy the ebook. The password is the same as the password for Amazon.com login.

The ebook shown is just an example.

5. Once the login is accepted, you should be able to see the ebook that you purchased on Amazon.  Click the Menu on the upper left to know other options in the app.

There you have it. Enjoy reading!
