Life Takes Side with Time: Three Generations Poem

By: Ymatruz | Filed under:

"Three Generations"

Three generations
of aging bed
made for
the weak.
Derelict cage.
An old light of
the hidden stars.
Concealed behind
the wall,
her skin
gradually
thinning out,
peeling off like
skin of the earth.

Three generations
of contemptuous
Time & his
selfishness.
Time isn't god
but only him
is rightly capable
to write his last will
& return to earth
over again.

Three generations
of slavery from
poison of life.
She had lived so
poorly, her eyes
bumping
each other
her delicate
hairlines
gone.

She envies
the cancer
of society
when changed
would heal itself.
But not
the scar of
her blood.

Even with the most
expensive drugs –
stolen by science
tomorrow,
who knows
at day light,
she would be
robbed of
the same air
used to stretch
the days of
her grandmother
in the same bed.
Three generations ago.

I submitted this poem for 100th Weekly Contests of Poetry Nook for another publication attempt. The poem talks about a woman suffering with a hereditary cancer. If you find this poem useful, you may pass it on with due credit to the author. Thank you!
