Of Love & Lost

By: Ymatruz | Filed under: | |

Nineteen ninety
Blooms a flower
Sees her beauty
And he wooed her.

She walks in shore
Secluded bay
He loves her more
Passion stays.

Yesterday leaves,
The past is pure
The swore he gives
Great love assure.

Love lose magic
In turns of clock
Love is tragic
The puppet mocks.

The midnight kiss
Has end so soon
Romantic bliss
Of sun and moon.

Originally titled "1990 - Of Love And Lost", reading a story online about a divorce while I was working in the Middle East couple of years back, prompted me to write this poem. I was single then and have no active relationship. Having experience a broken heart, I came up with this piece.

Think about love as a melting chocolate.

At one point in our lives, we felt so much in love with someone but eventually that love subsided either because you found a better person to love, or because of indifferences or maybe as simple as you did not feel the love anymore.

They say love is a temporary madness. And love fades away if it is not being taken care of.  But I still believe if you will patiently wait for the right one, a true love destined to last forever may knock on your door someday. As I've written in my article A Quick Thought About Love, "For a deep love deserves a heart that stays."

"Happily ever after doesn't happen overnight. Embrace love when it comes and nurture it so that it won't leave your side."
