What Defines a Real Believer?

By: Ymatruz | Filed under: |

Nobody is perfect. Everybody sins.

These phrases are very common as we always hear it everyday. We, as humans are prone to mistakes and sins.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and to mind your own business.

One simple example, we love some people in our lives but we also think evil of others in our hearts. Or, you might have done a good deed on the way to work today like helping an old woman cross the street but you go home lying to your family about that secret relationship you have with your colleague. Sounds familiar? It is not always the best approach in life but it's our humane nature that motivates us to choose the wrong side instead of doing the right decision.

I want to believe that imperfection is a word best fits for human beings. This is why we need an spiritual guidance so that we could live according to God's will while we courageously deal with life's daily challenges. The best way to do it - through prayers.

When we are in deep trouble and confused, we pray. When we sin, we ask for God's forgiveness through prayers. The next day, we keep on repeating the same mistakes that lead us to sinning.  There are times I have been thinking, "Aren't we using prayer as a guard to commit sin again?"

You might consider yourself religious or maybe you say that you are not coming to church every week but your relationship with God is strong because you often pray to him in one corner of your room. However, does our strong divine faith free us from our sins? I would want to believe it that way. Would you, too? But, what defines a real believer? I do not know either. Enlighten me with your comments.

All I know is what is written in the bible, God prefers his one sinful creation who believes in him than many others who do not need repentance. If you believe you have sinned, pray and ask for forgiveness and try not to do the same sin over and over again.

P.S. I'm waiting for your thoughts.

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life,
to mind your own business
and to work with your hands.
So that your daily life may win
the respect of outsiders and so that
you will not be dependent on anybody.

In as much as I want to give up,
the thoughts of your passion God
keeps me moving on.

God has spent a lot of work to bring
us together. So let us not mess it up
and end up failing him.
