Knight and Damsel

By: Ymatruz | Filed under: |

Knight and Damsel was first published online on Voicesnet in 2010. After 4 years, I met and married a westerner. It was fate...

Love travels afar to bring two hearts together.

Two souls shed their loneliness,
embraced and melt into one.
Two hearts yearning for caress,
felt love in each others arms.

The litany of old pains,
flee out of mind and feelings.
Love doth healing, making them
throb with life all-smiling.

They learned to be so graceful,
watching wild night birds singing.
When her blue eyes grew heavy,
She knew her knight is coming.

Gazing up the western skies,
"Marry me.", the knight whispers.
Waking up sleepy eyes,
Damsel utters, "Sir, yes, Sir!"

I should have ended this poem as:

Gazing up the western skies,
“Marry me.”, her knight whispered.
Waking up sleepy eyes,
Damsel uttered, “Sir, yes, Sir!”
