The Heart of Silence

By: Ymatruz | Filed under: |

Silence is never magical. It is often misunderstood. Yet, it can move a soul.

There are people who are not good in small talks. The tendency is when they go to social events, they simply smile when someone greet them or they say a short "Hi" and that's it. At times, a burst laugh at someone's joke is already a gracious response they could give.

When someone is silent, their behavior is being treated as rude, or uncaring when in fact, it is just the way they are. It is their way of being at peace with one's self and everything around them. Silent people have good concentration, attentive and with creative minds. But among all, they are good listeners and keen observant, too. Try to ask one how you look tonight at a party and he might not tell you the "beautiful" answer you are expecting, but you will notice the sincerity in his reaction. Quiet mind does not lie because it is the heart that speaks.

Silence is hearing a quiet, dead air.
In the stillness of the night,
thy mind utters prayer
and reveals depth of understanding.

Indeed a powerful, salient word
that makes muteness sounds loud,
silence is sharper than swords
and hurts like a knife yet unspoken.

It refuels thy mind and soul
And allows true self to speak,
Offers approach to reach thy goals.
At times of confusion, we need more of it.

That's me in my silent moment.
